It would be lightweight, less than 1.8Kg for an A3, probably some kind of single weave (pearl weave seems to be the norm right now), it would have reinforced and taped triple stitching including in the sleeve cuffs and rope-style cord for the trousers. Also, tapered style keeping in mind tall slim guys like me. Well, it's for me so duh.
Also, and very important, it would have a clean look. I'd go with a discreet-eccentric design over the more obvious "look at me and recognize from afar" path every time. For example, I'd (and do, and will) use a pink mouthguard but wouldn't dye my hair pink. Confident discreet eccentricity - that probably sums it.
So, when my man Seymour aka Meerkatsu sent out a challenge to us BJJ Gi Addicts/bloggers, to design a crazy-ass BJJ Gi, I thought I'd have to push the eccentricity and be that bit more pretentious.
Another thing I thought was that I wouldn't design anything I wouldn't wear - even in competition if the chance presented itself.
So, here's what I came up with!
... and sorry in advance for my limited photochopper skillz.
Entry nr. 1 - "Hello Kitty, Goodbye Human" Gi.
Navy blue, shock pink stitching and embroidery.
Cat scratches on both arms, pawprints going down on right leg and up on left leg.

Entry nr. 2 - "Huggy Kitten" Gi.
Cat scratches on both arms, pawprints going up both legs. "No mata-leão plz? :3" around back of the neck ("mata-leão" aka "rear naked choke") and "I is here for teh foot massage." on bottom left leg. That would probably save me from a foot/leg lock.

Entry nr. 3 - "Sleepy Scratchy Kitten" Gi
Cat scratches on both arms, pawprints going up both legs. "No mata-leão plz? :3" around back of the neck and "I can haz foot massage now plz?" on bottom left leg. That would also probably save me from a foot/leg lock.

So...
Kittens! I love 'em, they're the best and couldn't resist using them to achieve my goal: A Gi that would make one wonder "what the fu-?" and make those with less humor just a bit unsettled and creeped out ;)
Also, I just had to include the ArtSuave vanity logo. Family pride - gotta represent!
Pretty sure they would guarantee a killing entrance in any academy or even on the mat (as I believe all three are IFBJJ-legal).
I'll have mine in A3 please! :)

Whoah!
Adding to the FB group right now.
Well done brother!
Well done bro!!! Meerkatsu, I think we're gonna have a very tough time judging these!
Thanks guys ;D
The colour combos just seem to really work.
I can haz scratch back?
Strong LOLCat. :D
haha those are awesome... my 2 cats "roll" almost every night for about 20 mins at a time. One is definitely a guard player and the other favors the top game. The "double leg back kick" is my favorite technique. Cats definitely know what they are doing on the ground.
As for the "perfect" gi... im 6'5" but super skinny for my height (190lbs)... have always struggled to find a gi that fits correctly. Im excited to see what these guys have to offer once they release more details. vertical bjj
No doubt, cats are the best at everything :D
I've signed up for the updates. Interesting concept!
